1. Learning data on your device
MonVocab stores review progress, learned cards, streaks, XP, custom decks, bookmarked readings, learning goals and settings on your device. The display name and avatar in your learning profile are also stored locally; the profile editor does not upload your chosen image.
2. Accounts are optional
You can study without signing in. If you register, the name, email and password you enter are sent over HTTPS to the self-hosted Appwrite authentication service at api.monstudio.me to create and manage your account. The service processes account and session information to authenticate you. Signing in does not currently mean that your learning progress is backed up or synchronized to a server.
3. Audio downloads and network requests
The app connects to a server to download pronunciation audio when needed. Downloaded audio is cached for offline playback. When you download content or use an account, the server processes your IP address and request information needed to provide the service. This policy does not claim that network requests leave no technical logs.
4. Device permissions
Notifications provide study reminders you choose. Photo selection is used only when you choose an avatar; the image is copied to the app's storage. You can change permissions in your operating system settings. These features do not require location, contacts or audio recording.
5. Advertising and tracking
The source version reviewed for this policy does not integrate third-party advertising, behavioral analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not use advertising identifiers. Account services and audio downloads are separate from learning data stored on your device.
6. Deleting data and accounts
Uninstalling the app removes local data according to your operating system's behavior; any iCloud or Google backups are managed separately through your settings. Uninstalling does not delete your server account. The delete-account action in the Account screen currently disables sign-in; it does not mean all server records and backups are immediately erased. To request account-data deletion or ask about processing and retention periods, contact [email protected]. Do not email your password.
7. Younger users
Learning features can be used without creating an account. Parents or guardians who need assistance with a child's data can contact the support address below.
8. Changes and contact
MonVocab is developed by Mạnh Hùng under the MonStudio name. This policy will be updated when data practices change. Send questions or data requests to [email protected]. This policy applies to the MonVocab app and does not replace policies for other apps.
